Pastor Ernie Lassman has a B. A. in Reformation History from Pacific Lutheran University. He received a Master of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, majoring in New Testament Studies. He also received a Master of Sacred Theology in New Testament Studies from the same institution. Pastor Lassman has presented theological papers at conferences and has had articles on theology published in theological journals. He has served as a teacher of religion by extension for Concordia College of Portland, Oregon. Pastor Lassman was ordained in 1978. Prior to being installed as Messiah's pastor in 1988 he served two Lutheran congregations in British Columbia, Canada.
