HELP WANTED – Part-time, paid, temporary job opening for Church Secretary here at Messiah. If you are interested in this position, please contact the Church Office at (206) 524-0024. This position is designed to assist the acting Parish Administrator, Kathee McAlpine and has a closing date of March 14th.

Pastor’s AIC class will meet this Thursday at 7pm with a study on “The Holy Spirit” (His person and work.)

It’s never TOO early to think of Vacation Bible School. The date has been set, the materials have been picked, now it’s your turn to volunteer to help out with this WONDERFUL experience! Save the date, June 28-July 2. We will be needing key people for Volunteer Coordinator, Registration, Snacks, Bible Stories, Opening/Closing and Crafts. If you would be interested in being one of these “Key” people, please contact Kathee in the church office at 206.524.0024.

NEW EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY: Jim Grant will lead a study of the book of ACTS—Luke’s account of the beginning of the LORD’S church–the continuation of spreading the Gospel–a bridge between the four Gospels and the Epistles. The new class begins Thursday, March 11. Please sign up on the bulletin board.

Confessional Lutheran Singles - Are you Lutheran and Single? Come meet other Lutherans in the Greater Puget Sound area on March 13th at 7:00 pm for a night of Speed Gaming and dinner. This kick-off event will be hosted by our church! Please RSVP to the church at 206.524.0024 or on Facebook (search for Confessional Lutheran Singles).

Coming soon you will notice that we have new baby changing tables/stations in the restrooms. They will be located in the women’s handicap stalls, and in the men’s stalls on both floors. This should help out our parents and give the baby’s a little more “privacy”.

Ladies Guild Luncheon, Wednesday, March 10th at noon. Please join us, bring a Casserole, Salad or ? to share and don’t forget your MITE box for missions!

Daylight Savings Time is coming March 16th! Don’t forget to turn your clock forward.

Attention High School & Jr. High Youth! Save the date. On Saturday April 3rd we need 6-8 youth to help us set up and prepare food for the Annual Sunday Easter Breakfast. We will meet at the church and work from 4-6 pm on Saturday and then go out for free pizza and soft drinks afterwards. We also need 6-8 youth to help Easter breakfast from 7-9 am and to help bus tables that Sunday morning. Volunteers can sign up in advance on the youth bulletin board. All Easter breakfast proceeds go to supporting Messiah youth programs.

There are still a couple of dates left open on the AIC Desserts sign up sheet. Please consider signing up to bring a delicious snack for Pastor’s class.

Compass Cascade and Immanuel Lutheran - The lounge basket is the place to put shampoo, combs and deodorant for the homeless.

Big Move! The Tuesday morning Bible Study has moved to Thursday, at 10:30am.

EQUIPPING THE PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS...Don’t all religions lead to God? Isn’t morality simply in the eye of the beholder? How can a good and all-powerful God allow evil? You’ll find answers to these questions by listening to Issues, Etc. It’s a radio talk show hosted by LCMS Pastor Todd Wilken and produced by Lutheran Public Radio. Today in Sunday School the children learned about Jesus’s miracle of feeding 5,000 hungry people (John 6:1-14). They learned that in His love, God promises to care for all our physical and spiritual needs and gives us the greatest treasure-His Son and the gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation. As a family, talk about the many ways that God has provided for both your physical and spiritual needs. In the catechism, look at the explanation to the First Article of the Apostles’ Creed.

Calling all Church Members! Save the date of Saturday, April 24, 2010, for Concordia Lutheran School’s Annual Auction. The Auction’s theme this year is “Release”.
